10 Breakfast Ideas Without Eggs
Paleo or Whole 30 Breakfasts
My typical Whole 30 breakfast includes no diary, no grains, no legumes, but lots of eggs.
- Two eggs (poached, fried in clarified butter, scrambled, or froached eggs)
- 1/2 avacado on top
- 2 tablespoons fresh salsa
- Fruit (mix of peaches and raspberries)
- 1 Sausage
- sautéed spinach and onion (olive oil)
This will keep me full well through lunch, but after eating eggs every day, I'm coming up with a list of ten ideas that work with the program, but don't require eggs for breakfast.
My Typical Whole 30 Breakfast
#1 Sausage, Spinach, Avocado, Fruit
The first idea is my main breakfast without the eggs.
- Two pieces of sausage
- Sauteed spinach and onions in a little olive oil
- 1/2 fresh avocado
- Pear
#2 Ground Turkey, Asparagus, Fruit, Macadamia Nuts
Ground turkey goes well in an omlette, but for this breakfast, I'm not adding the eggs.
- Ground turkey with all spice, a bit of cinnamon, and salt and pepper
- Roasted asparagus
- Apple
- Macadamia Nuts
#3 Steak, Salsa, Sweet Potatoes, Asparagus, Watermelon
Steak and eggs is a classic breakfast, but for this meal, I'm leaving out the eggs.
- Small sirloin steak
- Salsa (fresh)
- Sweet potatoes (hash brown style)
- Asparagus roasted
- 1 Slice watermelon
#4 Chicken, Salsa, Pineapple, Mixed Mexican Green Salad
This isn't chicken and waffles, or a deep fried breaded chicken steak with gravy and eggs. Here is how I make it Whole 30 compliant.
- Shredded organic chicken
- Salsa (make sure it doesn't have sugar added)
- Slice of pineapple
- Mixed Mexican style salad with lime vinaigrette dressing
I put the salsa on the warm chicken and then serve the pineapple and salad on the side.
#5 Salmon, Zucchini, Strawberries
We don't often think of having salmon for breakfast, unless it's smoked. But, most smoked salmon has sugar added to it. So, we have to grill or poach it for this breakfast.
- Poached salmon (salt and pepper, fresh lemon)
- Fried Zucchini
- Fresh Strawberries
#6 Chicken Sausage, Yam, Spinach Salad, Cantaloupe
I found organic chicken sausage without fillers that is delicious!
- Chicken sausage
- Yam Patties (I mash them and then fry in coconut oil)
- Spinach salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing
- Slice of Cantaloupe
#7 Pork Chop, Roasted Carrots, Banana and Blueberries
This is a very satiating breakfast that will keep you full till lunch.
- Pork chop
- Roasted Carrots
- Banana and Blueberries
I don't eat too many bananas because of the high sugar content, but I find that they go really well with blueberries and pork. This is a favorite of mine:)
#8 Avocado chicken salad, Cauliflower, Peach
This I may be stretching a bit on.
- Mix chicken, avocado, and a paleo mayo to make a salad
- Make mashed cauliflower and fry up a patty in coconut oil
- Peach
This is like a light salad, with a savory potato like patty, and a sweet kicker.
#9 Halibut, Peaches, Kale
Halibut is light and flakey which is pretty good for breakfast. With the peaches and some greens, it's a very nice combination.
- Grilled halibut
- Fresh peaches
- Sautéed Kale
#10 Shrimp, Cashews, Blueberries, Peppers
- Grilled Shrimp
- Cashews (small handful)
- Blueberries
- Sauteed Bell Peppers
Eating Breakfast without Eggs
Even if you like eggs, if you stay on the Paleo diet or do the Whole 30 program, if you're like me will start to get a bit challenged by eating them almost every morning. I've found a couple of ways to get through the egg challenge. First, cook them all sorts of ways. Second, mix up the type of eggs. Try quail eggs as an example. Lastly, try to make some breakfasts without the eggs like the list of breakfast ideas I provided.
To make your own list, I've found that preparing the meat as a light as possible and serving a fruit with the meal makes it feel more like breakfast. One more way to come up with ideas is to think of your favorite breakfast and just remove all the things that aren't whole 30 approved and take out the eggs if you're sick of them. That's how I came up with most of my ideas. I looked at a breakfast menu and just removed the eggs from the plate. Good luck.
