What if Your Article Gets Too Long

Long articles aren't a great idea when writing for search engines. The ideal length is 400 to 600 words. So, if your article gets to long, create one page that summarizes them and then individual pages for each sub-section:)

Paul your writing is great!

Thanks for the great advice, Paul. All too often I find that the articles I've written are a bit lengthy. To appease the SEO gods, I guess I'd better start breaking them down into additional, smaller pages. Thanks, again. Great hub.

Thank you Paul, is there a Keyword access place in HubPages?

rebekahELLE 23 months ago

Paul, I do have a question in regard to length as I have heard that it's fine to have up to 1000 words for an article if the content is all relevant to the title.

Paul Edmondson 23 months ago

In terms of length, I think it's as many words to cover the topic. I probably error on too few words. 1000 words sounds like a fair amount.

I am new to hubs, this is great advice and information

I never knew that articles for Search Engine pickups should be between 400-600 words. Thanks a million Sir.

leahlefler 15 months ago

The 400-600 word count is interesting, since many people recommend around 1500 words for a quality hub. My hub lengths vary - I refuse to add more words to simply lengthen a hub (especially if it will make the article boring or 'stuffed' with useless blabber).
