Pure Protein Peanut Butter Nutritional Information

It's not always easy to find a bar with the perfect nutritional information, so sometimes you need to trade some calories, and carbs for protein and taste. This bar is one of my favorites.

High Protein Low Carb and Low Sugar Bars are the Best

Protein bars are popular supplements for active people wanting a snack that fits their diet. They are also a recommended component of many diets. It turns out that there is a wide range of calories, sugar, fat, carbs, and protein, fiber, and other ingredients in the various types of bars that are on the market.

When I'm looking at the nutritional information on the back of a protein bar, I evaluate four main criteria in selecting the best protein bar for my diet. I look for low sugar, low carbs, high protein, low fat, and a medium number of calories. I use this criteria because I'm looking for a protein bar as part of a weight loss diet. I like high protein because I find it satisfying and reduces my desire to eat, I like a mid calorie bar since I try to eat protein bars as a meaningful snack. If I eat a small bar, I find myself getting hungry shortly after. I like low carb protein bars and low sugar bars since eating less carbs and sugar can help reduce fat on your body.

My two favorite Protein Bars

Atkins Advantage Bars, Chocolate Peanut Butter, 2.1-Ounce Bars 5 count, (Pack of 2)
The chocolate peanut butter Atkins bar is the best bar in my opinion for my weightloss diet. It's high protein, low net carbs, and low sugar. It's 2.1 ounces and has 240 calories. For a low carb diet, I think this is the best bar. The one downside is they are pretty expensive. I often buy them at Wall Greens and usually have to pay per bar prices of more than $2. It's better to buy them from Amazon.
Amazon Price: $19.46
List Price: $24.16
Pure Protein High Protein Bar, Chocolate Peanut Butter, 6 Bars, 1.76 Ounces (Pack of 2)
The peanut butter Pure Protein is my favorite tasting bar. While it's not quite as perfect for my diet as the Atkins bars, I really like that they are available from Costco to buy in bulk and get much better pricing. There are a few different sizes of this bar. Costco sells the 50g bar (smaller).
Amazon Price: $23.95
List Price: $17.49

Example of a popular bar, but very high in sugar

Clif Bar Builder's Bar, Chocolate Mint, 2.4-Ounce Bars, 12 Count
Cliff bars are great and very tasty, but they don't fit my low carb diet well because they have quite a high sugar content. They taste great, are high in protein, but the sugar is too high for me to go with this bar.
Amazon Price: $17.69
List Price: $29.99

I used to be a cliff bar person, now a Larabar, Cliff Builders are good too. I haven't seen Atkin's to much but will keep an eye out for them.

I heard for Atkins, but never really tasted them.

Check my hub :-)

I'm a long-time protester of protein bars--who knew the chemical compounds that make protein are identical to the chemical compounds that make sidewalk chalk? I've had Atkins and they are the most tolerable. See ya at hubcamp!

I like protein bars also but look for low sugar and usually use them when I've exercised, am hungry and not much time. They are a quick and easy alternative to most lunches. Thanks for the information.

I like these but yes some have too much sugar. You need to read the labels carefully

Another nice protein bar is soy bar, it's tasty and nutritious.

Great article, thanks for sharing.

The first thing I check with nutrition bars is the protein content and the sugar content.

If protein is up and sugar is low - I eat the bar!

I love atkins products, love eating organic, natural foods but that ish gets expensive. Eating healthy or healthier is truly an investment in itself.

I usually don't have protein bars. I am often put off by the sugar content and the level of unsaturated fat that is present in so called "health bars". Sounds like the Atkins Advantage Bars are more suitable for my purposes.

I have never heard of the Atkins bars before. I will have to look for them and try them out. Thanks for the info!

My personal favorites are Power Crunch bars. They have about 12-15 grams each of fat, protein and carbs, and they are a nice little snack at the end of the day before I work out. Plus they don't taste like cardboard or are as hard as a rock. Very tasty, actually. Great hub, and good advice on power bars (watch out for the ones that have way too many carbs ... you want more protein and less fat and carbs. Gave this a vote up.

I love making the bars myself. I know quite a few recipes as well that I put on my website.
