How To Make a Cadillac Margarita
Top Shelf Margarita Recipe without mix
Cadillac Margarita on the Rocks Recipe
Premium margaritas are made without margarita mix. Typically mixes are sweet syrp that destroys the taste. For the best margarita you've ever had follow this recipe.
In a glass or shaker, combine the following
2 shots of premium tequilla (Patron Silver or Gold)
1 shot of Triple Sec
1 shot Grand Marnier
1 shot Roses lime
Steps: using a sponge dampen the rim of a glass and dip it in course salt. Add ice to the glass and add the tequilla, Triple Sec, Grand Marnier, and Roses lime. Stir and serve.
On the Rocks Margarita with Premium Tequilla
I know it's going to be a good night when I can get my wife to drink a Cadillac Margarita. They're delicious, smooth and packed full of alcohol. This Margarita recipe is made without any mix. My feeling is mixes tend to ruin the drink. Also, I only serve margaritas over Ice. Never blended.
I call it a Cadillac margarita because it has four shots of premium alcohol in it and little fillers. Typically, this recipe is served in a 16 ounce glass where the glass is filled with ice before adding the drink.

I only serve them over ice. Be careful. These pack a punch.
The first time I ever had a Margarita was in a town in the Czech Republic called Plzen. (The home of Pilsner beer.) It was not long after the fall of the Soviet bloc but we couldn't believe how this 19 year old girl who was the barmaid in our hotel spoke six languages, as well as being a mean mixer of drinks. She spoke English almost with a West London accent! The funny thing was, we only had British pounds and German marks but she told us we would have got a further one third discount if we could have paid in American dollars. It hardly mattered as the cost was minimal and almost embarassing - so she got a very good tip! :)
This is definitely the way to mix a Margerita, Paul. I've never forgotten that the simple way is often the best way.
Huh. I've never had a MArgarita before and I had no idea what is in them! Good to know!
But, Paul, doesn't the ice dilute the drink fast? How about starting with very chilled ingredients?
I love the Latin music in the background! Are you musical?
Love this recipe! Too often the mixes I pick up at the market are just a little "off" as far as fantastic margaritas go. Your use of the Premium (Patron Silver is my absolute favorite) turns the ordinary into something spectacular. I can't wait for the weekend to whip up a batch! Thanks for the fun and mood setting music as well.
(love the name of the production company BTW!)

Love Margaritas on the Rocks and I have to agree, don't use pre-made mix! Bring on Cinco de Mayo! :)
Sounds interesting.
Well maybe , I will try this on New Year's Eve... thanks for the recipe. Wishing you and the HubPages family a Happy and Safe New Year.
Hey Paul, long time admirer, first time commenter, this is a great Hub, but I'm curious, and if you don't mind me asking, what camera did you use to film this? Voted Up, and Everything Else :)
I shot it with an iphone.
@Paul - awesome hub and useful for making REAL margaritas.
@gredmondson - we just assumed Paul has a full-time mariachi band that follows him around each day.
@Paul: That's what I thought, just wanted to be sure thanks :)
I love the opening sentence! That is a love potion you're mixing- enjoyed watching. I'll bookmark for future reference.. Maybe tonight. :))
When purchased in a restaurant, these are expensive. What a great way to save money and still have a delightful evening.
So your new video team is Handsome Paul?
